Setting up Your General Store Infos

Set up your general infos and settings by defining the name and URL of your online store, entering you basic business information, setting up your store’s language and currency. You also need to decide in which countries you ship, if you offer delivery to nearby regions or if you allow store pickup. Depending on the countries you sell to you have to set up taxes, shipping fees and much more. Please note that you are required by law to offer at least one payment method at no extra charge.

Setting up your online store

A great place to start is with store products. If your products have different options, such as sizes or colors, don't forget to add those up as well.
You can also migrate your products from other platforms:

Privacy Policy (with GDPR terms and sections)

There are a lot of general legal requirements your online store has to comply with before you can hit the publish button. It is important to meet these requirements otherwise you have to expect legal consequences and high fines.

Before you go live: Increase compliance of your Online Store

In addition to the information requirements above, there are other requirements that you must fulfill as an online merchant when designing an online store:

Price Breakdown

You as the merchant are required to indicate total prices in the web store, i.e. the amount to be paid by the buyer including VAT and all other price components. In addition, it must be indicated if the stated price includes VAT.
If you charge shipping or delivery fees, these must also be included.
You have the following options to display prices in your online store:

Displaying your policies on your checkout page

You have to give the customer the opportunity to read and save the contract text including the terms and conditions while checking out. Best to add checkboxes to make sure that the customer read your policies. Learn how

Email Confirmation

You as the merchant are required to send the contract text including the terms and conditions immediately after checkout electronically. Learn more

Naming your order button

Label the order button correctly. Allowed are: "Payable Order" (Zahlungspflichtig bestellen) or "Buy" (Kaufen). Not permitted are: "Order" or "Registration".
To make your online store comply with the legal requirements, the button on the payment page at Wix Stores is called "Order with costs" and its name cannot be customized.
