Issues with a Domain Purchased from Wix
Make sure your site is published
New edits and changes to your site are not automatically reflected on your live site. Make sure to
publish your site to make your changes go live.
To publish your site:
- Click Publish at the top right of the Editor.
- (Optional) Click View Site to be taken to your live site.
- Click Done.
Make sure your domain hasn't expired
If your domain has expired, you'll need to resolve the payment issue to reconnect your site.
To check the expiration date of your domain:
- Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.
- Check the information in the Next Payment Due column.
Note: Click Update Payment Method under the relevant domain to renew your domain.
If your domain is not listed in Premium Subscriptions:
- Make sure you've signed in to the correct Wix account.
- Check that your domain isn't in the redemption period.
- Check your Domains page if you've transferred your domain from another Wix account.
Note: View the expiration date to the right of your domain name.

Check that your Premium plan subscription is still active
You must have an active Premium plan subscription for your site to be connected to a domain.
To check the status of your Premium plan subscription:
- Go to My Premium plans.
- Select the relevant Premium plan subscription.
- View the status of your Premium plan next to Status.
Check that your domain is assigned to the correct site
In order for your live site to appear, your domain must be assigned to a site with a Premium plan.
To assign a domain in your account to a site:
- Go to Domains in your Wix account.
Note: If you have more than one domain in your account, scroll to the domain you wish to assign. - Click Assign next to Not Assigned to a Site.

Note: If your domain is currently assigned to a different site, click the More Options icon
on the right and select Assign to a Different Site. - Select a site and click Next.
Note: If the site is currently connected to a different domain, choose an option:
- Redirect it to the primary domain: Redirect your domain to the site's primary domain that is already connected.
- Replace the current primary domain: Connect your domain and disconnect the site's current domain.
- Click Assign.
Check your domain's DNS records in your Wix account
Domains purchased from Wix automatically have the correct DNS records configured in your account. If your A (Host) or CNAME (Aliases) records have been changed, you'll need to correct them for your site to reconnect.
To check and update your DNS records:
- Go to Domains in your Wix account.
Note: If you have more than one domain in your account, scroll to the relevant domain. - Click the More Options icon
on the right and select Manage DNS Records. 
- Check that your DNS records reflect the correct records:
- A record: 185.230.63.107
- CNAME record: balancer.wixdns.net
- (If needed) Update your A (Host) and CNAME (Aliases) records.
Note:
After making changes to your DNS records it may take up to
48 hours for your domain to
propagate.
Check that your domain hasn't been deactivated due to ICANN regulations
The Internet Corporation for Assigned Names & Numbers (ICANN) requires that all domain registrants confirm their domain contact information.
If you were sent an email titled
Action Required - Confirm Your Contact Information and did not click
Confirm, your domain is deactivated. Learn more about
confirming your domain.
To reactivate your domain:
- Go to Domains in your Wix account.
Note: If you have more than one domain in your account, scroll to the relevant domain. - Click Resend Confirmation Email.
Note: If you don't see this option, you do not need to confirm your domain's contact email.

- Confirm your domain's contact information:
- Access the business email for your domain's contact email address.
- Open the email titled Confirm Your Domain Contact Information (sent from wix-team@notifications.wix.com).
- Click Confirm in the email.

Note: After clicking
Confirm in your email, it may take up to 48 hours for your domain to propagate and display your site again. Learn more about
domain propagation.
Issues with a Domain Connected via Name Servers
Make sure your site is published

Check that your Premium plan subscription is still active
You must have an active Premium plan subscription for your site to be connected to a domain.
To check the status of your Premium plan subscription:
- Go to My Premium plans.
- Select the relevant Premium plan subscription.
- View the status of your Premium plan next to Status.
Check that your domain is assigned to the correct site
In order for your live site to appear, your domain must be assigned to a site with a Premium plan.
To assign a domain in your account to a site:
- Go to Domains in your Wix account.
Note: If you have more than one domain in your account, scroll to the domain you wish to assign. - Click Assign next to Not Assigned to a Site.

Note: If your domain is currently assigned to a different site, click the Show More icon
on the right and select Assign to a Different Site. - Select a site and click Next.
Note: If the site is currently connected to a different domain, choose an option:
- Redirect it to the primary domain: Redirect your domain to the site's primary domain that is already connected.

- Click Assign.
Make sure your domain has the correct Wix name servers in your domain host's account. You can do a
DNS lookup to check which name servers are currently resolving for your domain.

Check your domain's status
Your domain must have an active status in order to be connected to a site.
To check the status of your domain:
- Go to whois.com.
- Enter your domain name in the search field and click WHOIS.

- Review the domain status and expiry date.

Note: Contact your domain registrar if you need help ensuring your domain is active.
Wait for your domain to propagate
Any time you make a DNS change to your domain, it takes time for the propagation to complete. Domain propagation is the process whereby your domain host notifies the root DNS servers of the change in your domain settings, which in turn notifies your Internet Service Provider (ISP).
If you've recently changed your name servers, it may take up to
48 hours for your domain to complete propagation and appear connected to your site. Learn more about
domain propagation.
Check that your SSL certificate is properly issued
The SSL certificate is automatically generated within 48 hours of updating your DNS records.
To check your SSL certificate:
- Make sure you have the correct Wix name servers in your domain host's account. Click here to view your account-specific name server records.
- Ensure that DNSSEC is unsigned for your domain by checking whois.com. Contact your domain host for DNSSEC assistance.
- If you've added the HTML app to your site, make sure the code you've entered contains HTTPS (and not HTTP). Click here to learn more about the HTML app.

Still Experiencing Issues?
Try the following local issue troubleshooting steps:
- Clear your browser's cache and try accessing your domain again.
- Go to your domain in incognito mode.
- Check whatismybrowser.com and update your browser if it's not the latest version.
- Go to your domain using a different supported browser.
- Go to your domain on another computer that uses different anti-virus, anti-malware, and firewall programs.
- Connect to a different Wi-Fi network or use a smartphone's 3G/4G cellular network to access your domain. This detects if there's an issue with the network you're using.
