Wix Blog: Customizing Your Blog Feed

Welcome your readers to a captivating blog feed where they can scan through your latest posts and select the ones they want to read. Offer them the convenience of choosing by category, allowing them to zero in on their preferred topics. 
Customize both the blog and category feeds to match your site's design, providing a consistent and appealing visitor experience.

This article refers to customizing your blog feed. You can also customize the post page that which readers see when they open a specific post.

Choosing what info to show on your feed

Customize what information your readers see in the blog or category feeds. Decide whether to provide more context, such as estimated reading time or author name, or opt for a more streamlined look by hiding any extra details.

To choose what info you want to show:

  1. Go to your editor.
  2. Go to your Blog page:
    1. Click Pages & Menu  on the left side of the editor.
    2. Click Blog Pages.
    3. Click your Blog page.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Display tab.
  5. Click Blog Menu.
  6. Click the Show Blog Menu toggle to show or hide the menu at the top of the feed.
  7. Click the checkboxes to choose what shows on your blog menu. 
  8. Click Back
  9. Click Social Sharing.
  10. Click the Enabled Social Sharing toggle to show or hide the social icons.
  11. Click the checkboxes to choose what social icons display on your posts. 


Changing the layout of your feed

Customize the arrangement of your posts in the feed to perfectly suit your vision. Choose from a variety of options, including post and image size, placement, and loading style, to create a visually stunning and cohesive blog.
Tip:
You can have a different layout for each of your feeds. For example, you might choose a Side-by-Side style for your All Posts feed and the Editorial layout for your category feed.

To change the layout of your feed:

  1. Click the Blog page in your editor.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click the Layout tab.
  4. Click the tabs at the top to choose which feed you want to customize:
    • All Posts Feed: This is your main blog feed which displays all of your posts.
    • Category Feed: This feed displays your blog categories so visitors can choose a specific topic.
  5. Select a preset layout under Choose a layout.
  6. Customize the layout further using the options available.
Note:
Each layout has its own customization options. Click the available layouts to see what options are available. 

Customizing the design of your feed

Tailor the colors and fonts on your feed to align with your site and brand. The design options vary based on the selected layout, so take the time to review the available options and select the one that best suits your needs.

To customize the design of your feed:

  1. Click the Blog page in your editor.
  2. Click Settings.
  3. Click the Design tab.
  4. Choose what element you want to design and customize it using the options available:
    • Blog Menu: Select the colors and fonts used in the menu at the top of your blog feed.
    • Posts: Select the colors and fonts used in the main blog feed and category feed.
    • Category Label: Select the colors, fonts and style of the category label which appears on the blog post to show what category it belongs to. This option is only available if you enabled Category Label in the Display settings.
    • Buttons & Margins: Select the colors used on the buttons (e.g., the Login button) and the background area of the blog feed.
    • Video Settings: Set how you want videos in your blog feed to play. You can choose when they start to play, whether they play with or without sound and the playback speed.
