Wix SMS: Adding and Setting Up Wix SMS
Reach your customers on the go and save time on manually reaching out. With Wix SMS, you can automatically send pre-installed SMS (text) messages to your Wix Bookings or Wix Restaurants customers. These messages come from your dedicated business number. You choose your number during the setup process.
Before you begin:
- Wix SMS is only available to Wix users in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. It is not yet available to all users in these countries.
- You need a Business and eCommerce Premium plan to use Wix SMS.
- Currently, Wix SMS allows you to send pre-installed Bookings and Restaurants texts. You can't create your own automations or compose your own messages.

Adding Wix SMS to your site
Add Wix SMS from your site's dashboard so you can begin sending pre-installed Wix Bookings or Wix Restaurants texts.
To add Wix SMS to your site:
- Go to SMS Settings in your site's dashboard.
Note: Wix SMS is only available to Wix users in Canada, the U.S. and the U.K. It is not yet available to all users in these countries. If Wix SMS is not available to you, you will not be able to access SMS Settings. - Click Get a Number.
- (For Canada and U.S. numbers) Use the drop-down menu to search for and select a city/area code.
- Browse the available numbers and click Select next to your chosen number.
Note: Click Show Different Numbers to refresh the results. - Click Done.
Activating automated Wix Bookings texts
Activate pre-installed Wix Bookings texts. Wix Bookings "reminder" texts are automatically sent 24 hours before a session, to remind your customers to attend.
To activate automated texts for Bookings:
- Go to SMS Settings in your site's dashboard.
- Click the arrow next to Send SMS session reminders.

- Your Bookings Emails & SMS Reminders page will open. Click the toggle next to Session reminders to activate this automation.

Activating automated Wix Restaurants texts
Activate pre-installed Wix Restaurants texts. Wix Restaurants texts are sent in three cases:
- Confirmation: Text sent when your customer makes a reservation (whether booked online or manually).
- Update: Text sent when your customer updates a reservation.
- Cancellation: Text sent when your customer cancels a reservation.
To activate automated texts for Restaurants:
- Go to SMS Settings in your site's dashboard.
- Click the arrow next to Send SMS reservation updates.

- Your new automations will be visible within Wix Automations, in the Installed for you section. Edit or deactivate your automation(s) if necessary.
