Wix Studio FAQs: Getting Started

Wix Studio is available to everyone. 

If you're an agency or enterprise already using Wix or Editor X, you can switch your account to a Wix Studio account. You'll find multiple entry points prompting you to switch, including through the Sites page in your dashboard, the dashboard of any site you own, the Templates page, and the Account Settings menu.

On switching, you'll land on the Discover page of your new Wix Studio workspace and can find all the educational resources you need to get started.

You can also access Wix Studio via an email invitation to join a team. If invited to a Wix Studio team, click to accept the invite, log in and go to your team's Wix Studio workspace.

Finally, we have paths to sign up via our mobile apps too. Sign up via a link in the Wix mobile app or download the newly launched Wix Studio app, available on iOS and Android, and start your journey from there.

Yes. Once you transition to Wix Studio, all of your sites will be available in your Sites tab, within the Wix Studio workspace.

By April 2024, you'll no longer be able to create new Editor X sites, as part of the transition process. For this reason, we highly recommend using Wix Studio for any new projects you get. If you've never used Editor X before, the option to create new sites is now closed. Learn more about updating an Editor X site to Wix Studio.

Yes. If you feel that Wix Studio is not for you, you can leave Wix Studio and switch to the regular Wix experience. When you leave, some Wix Studio features will no longer be available. For Wix Partners, this decision also means leaving the Partner Program altogether and losing access to exclusive benefits, features and points. Learn more about leaving Wix Studio.

You can learn how to use Wix Studio through our dedicated educational hub, Wix Studio Academy. There you'll find the Essentials course to get you fully up to speed with the platform and its capabilities, as well as standalone how-to tutorials. 

Additionally, our experts will host a series of ongoing educational events and webinars, covering everything from design to development. From your new workspace, you'll find sandboxes to experiment with features like responsive design, and in the Studio Editor there are tooltips and videos to guide you along the way. Wix Studio offers a collaborative environment designed to support your entire workflow. In the Studio Editor, you and your teammates can work side-by-side and get instant feedback, from colleagues or clients, with on-canvas comments. 

In the new workspace, you can efficiently manage multiple teams, projects and assets from one centralized place. You can also switch between workspaces, so you don't need to create additional accounts to work on different teams. Experience seamless collaboration with your clients too—take granular control over who does what with roles and permissions, get their feedback on your work in progress and add a personalized selection of resources to their dashboard.

Reusable assets are assets you create that you can use, reuse and share. This includes sections, custom templates and widgets.

Additionally, Wix Studio features a dedicated tab where you can view your team's entire Customer Care ticket log. This allows you to track previous interactions and issues raised by anyone in your workspace to Wix Customer Care, providing a comprehensive overview of their statuses and resolutions. Wix Studio has several designer-made responsive website templates, covering a broad range of industries and design styles that you can also use to create sites without needing to start from scratch. There are also some ready-made wireframes for you to choose from and add your own style.

Yes, we're excited to launch a new mobile app for Wix Studio, designed to help you stay in control while on the move. 

You’ll be able to manage your agency’s site, projects and clients, and access the Marketplace where you can view and manage leads, reply to contacts and get paid. You can also easily manage your clients' sites, reach out to customer support and get updates on your tickets' status. Plus, you can view and switch between workspaces in your account, so you can stay on top of every project on your plate. You'll have all the capabilities of the Wix app—and more.

If you prefer, you can use the Wix app to manage your Wix Studio sites. You can easily switch between workspaces and your Site List will change depending on which workspace you're in. However, for an enhanced user experience with more specific features for Wix Studio users, we recommend you use the new Wix Studio app.
