Wix SEO Setup Checklist: Creating Your SEO Checklist

The Wix SEO Setup Checklist is a step-by-step checklist designed to help you improve your site's search engine optimization (SEO) based on your business's information and your keywords. It also lets you connect and verify your site with Google so that your site appears in search engine results.
You can create your SEO Checklist in your site's SEO & GEO dashboard. Enter the name of your business, select whether you serve your customers from a physical address or online, and add three keywords that describe your business and what you offer. 
Important:
To connect to Google Search Console, you must have a Premium plan and a domain connected to your site. This can be either a domain purchased from Wix or a domain purchased from another domain host. Learn more about the SEO Setup Checklist requirements.

To create your SEO Checklist:

  1. Go to SEO & GEO in your site's dashboard.
  2. Scroll down to Tools and settings.
  3. Click SEO Setup Checklist.
  4. Click Get Started.
  5. Enter a name for your site under What's Your Business or Site Name?.
    Tip: You should make sure to keep the name consistent with the name that's written on your site. 
  6. Click Next.
  7. Select whether you serve your customers from a physical location or online.

Tips:
  • If you have a physical location, you can add up to five addresses.
  • You can edit the addresses later if you need to change them. 
  1. Click Next.
  2. Add up to 3 keyword phrases that describe your business and what it offers.

Tips:
  • Your keywords should be 2-4 words long.
  • Press Enter to separate the phrases.
  • You can change these keywords later if you want to try different ones.
  • Click See examples to see some good examples and bad examples of keywords. 
  1. Click Find high performing keywords if you want suggestions for strong keywords for your site. Learn more about keyword research tools
  2. Click Next. 
Your personalized SEO Checklist will be ready in seconds. Follow the steps of your checklist to connect your site to Google. 
Important:
It can take some time for Google to index your site's pages and display them in search results.
