Wix Owner App: Sending Messages From Your Inbox

View and reply to all your conversations in one place. Send chat, email, SMS, and Facebook messages from Wix Inbox using the Wix Owner app. Switch between channels to talk with your contacts using their preferred method and offer more to the conversation by sharing coupons, files, or image attachments.

Sending messages from Wix Inbox

Communicate with your contacts via their preferred channel to instantly reply to messages and share updates. 

To send a message:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap Inbox  at the bottom.
  3. Tap on the relevant contact you want to message.
  4. Tap the channel drop-down and select how you want to send your message:
    • Chat: Send a chat message to members. To use this option, you must have the Wix Chat app on your site.
    • Email: Send an email to members whose email addresses are saved in your contact list. 
    • SMS: The SMS channel is available when you purchase a Business Phone Number and the member's number is saved in your contact list.
      Note: You can't send SMS without saving a contact.
    • Facebook: View and reply to Facebook messages from your inbox. This channel is available only for your customers who became your contact by syncing their Facebook page on your site.

Tip:
Broadcast messages are available to contact multiple contacts at once. Learn more about sending broadcast messages through the Wix Owner app
Important:
If your contact doesn't reply within 24 hours of sending your Facebook message, the Facebook session will expire. Learn more about the Facebook messaging policy


Sending attachments with messages

Send multiple attachments to keep your inbox communication on point and give your clients a comprehensive customer experience.

To send attachments:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap Inbox  at the bottom.
  3. Do one of the following to find the relevant conversation:
    • Tap on the relevant contact you want to message.
    • Tap the Compose icon  at the top right and select a contact. 
  4. Choose from the following options: 
    • Tap the Saved replies icon  and choose from a pre-saved reply (e.g about shipping info, return policy etc.).
      Tip: Tap New Saved Reply to create a new reply. 
    • Tap the Upload media icon  to: 
      1. Take a photo: Tap Take a photo to add media directly from your device's camera.
      2. Choose from device: Tap Choose from device to select a media file to add from your device. 
      3. Select from Media Manager: Tap Select from Media Manager to choose from uploaded media.  
    • Tap the Send an item icon  to: 
      1. Send photos: Tap the Photos icon  to share a photo in the chat. 
      2. Send saved replies: Tap the Saved replies icon  to share a saved or new reply in the chat. 
      3. Send products: Tap Products icon  to share an in stock product in the chat. 
      4. Send coupons: Tap Coupons icon to share discounts and offers in the chat. 
      5. Send services: Tap Services icon to share a service (online program) in the chat. 
      6. Get Payment: Tap Get Payment icon  to send a payment request in the chat.
        Note: You need a payment method connected to request payment through chat. Learn how to connect a payment method to your site.  
  5. Tap Send
Important:
If you have attached items to your message and decide to move channels (for example, from email to chat), you will lose the attached items and have to upload them again. 
Attachments sent via email:
  • Products, services and coupons will be converted into a link.
  • Coupons will be converted to text.  
  • Once selected, files and images will stay in ‘view mode’ and will be sent only when you click Send Email.
