Adding a language to your site

With Wix Multilingual, you can add multiple languages to your site, and manage them from your dashboard.
When adding a language to your site, you can choose to translate your content automatically or manually, and ensure that visitors can enjoy your site, no matter the language they speak.

To add a new language:

  1. Go to Site Languages in the Multilingual dashboard.
  2. Click + Add Language.
  3. Click the Language drop-down menu and select a language.
  4. Click the Flag drop-down menu and select a flag to represent the language.
  5. Click Add Language.

Showing or hiding a language on your site

Any time you add a secondary language, it is hidden by default. When you finish translating that language and are happy with how it looks, unhide it to show it to the world.

To show or hide a language:

  1. Go to Site Languages in the Multilingual dashboard.
  2. Click the Status drop-down next to your language and select an option:
    • Visible: The language is accessible to site visitors and appears in the language menu.
    • Hidden: The language is not accessible to site visitors (even with a direct link) and does not appear in the language menu.

Deleting a language from your site

When you delete a language, its translations and any changes you made to that language are permanently deleted.

To delete a language:

  1. Go to Site Languages in the Multilingual dashboard.
  2. Click the More Actions icon beside the language you want to delete.
  3. Select Delete Language.
  4. Click Delete to confirm.
