Revamping Your Site
Changing your design, content or features helps your website stay current. Revamping can be anything from a stylistic upgrade to adding a new Wix product to make your life easier. Changing your site also tells search engines, like Google, that your website is active and maintained, which can also help with your SEO. Read on for different ways to revamp your site.
Refurbishing an Existing Site
Want to rethink how your published site looks? You can unpublish it at any time to make the changes you need. Just remember to hit Publish again when you’re ready. There are so many new features to play with like Parallax scrolling, lightboxes and more.
Duplicating Your Site
You can duplicate an existing site to test new features, layouts, or view changes you made without affecting your current live site. Wix allows you to create as many free websites as you need, so you can test new versions.
Restoring a Previous Version of Your Site
Need to roll back on some previous edits? You can restore previous versions of your site in your site history.
To restore previous versions of your site:
- Go to Settings in your site's dashboard.
- Scroll down to Advanced.
- Click Site History.
- Browse previous versions of your site.
- Click the Expand icon on the relevant version.
- Click Restore, to restore that version of your site.
Hiring a Wix Partner
Use the Wix Marketplace to find a designer or freelancer to help you with the parts of your site that you'd most like to improve. Wix Partners can assist you in any aspect of your site, from creating stunning visuals to writing custom code. There are experts in analytics, eCommerce, email marketing and social networking waiting to help site-owners just like you.
Starting Over with a New Site
Try a totally new design. There are more possible Wix combinations than there are drops of water in the ocean. With Wix, you can create new sites for free. If you love the result, you can reassign your existing domain to your new site without skipping a beat. A new website can be a brand new day.
Your site must be upgraded before you can assign a domain to it. Upgrade or reassign an existing Premium Plan to your site before you assign your domain.
Things to keep in mind when starting over:
- There’s no limit to the number of sites you can have in your account.
- Your content won’t automatically be copied across to a new site.
- Site-specific features such as Ascend, Apps, SEO Settings and Marketing Integrations will not transfer.
