Working with the Connect Text Panel

You can connect a Text element to a dataset to display text content from your collection.
If you are not yet in the Connect Text Box panel, select the Text element and click the Connect to Data icon to open it.

Connect a dataset
Select the dataset from the drop-down that you want to connect your Text element to.
Select the dataset from the drop-down that you want to connect your Text element to.

Text connects to
Click the dropdown and do one of the following:

- Connect to an existing collection field: Select the field in your collection whose content you want to connect to your Text element.
- Connect to a new collection field: Select Add a new collection field.
- You'll need to define the Field Name and Field Type.
Form Messages
If your connected dataset is set to either Write-only or Read & Write, you can use a Text element as a Form Message.
If your connected dataset is set to either Write-only or Read & Write, you can use a Text element as a Form Message.
- Submit Failed. The text that you manually enter in the Text element is displayed when a user submission fails.
- Submit Succeeded. The text that you manually enter in the Text element is displayed when a user submission succeeds.
Choose a format
If your text element is connected to a Date and Time field, you can choose the display format for your date and time. Learn more.
