About SEPA Payments for Wix Services

3 min read
From April, 2024, Wix no longer accepts SEPA as a payment method for first-time purchases. Users who wish to pay by bank transfer can purchase Wix services using Sofort, if available in your location.
The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a European Union direct debit payment method. It simplifies bank transfers in Euro.
In this article, learn about:

Paying for Wix services using SEPA

If you have SEPA as a saved payment method in your Wix account, you see an option to pay using SEPA in the checkout.
Once you've completed your purchase, you do not receive any further notifications or emails until the product has been activated in your Wix account.
Important:
  • For Wix purchases that use SEPA as payment method, it can take up to 7 business days for us to receive the confirmation from your bank. Only after we've received confirmation will you see the purchased product in your Wix account.
  • Not all products are available for SEPA payments.

Purchasing domains using SEPA

If you have SEPA as a saved payment method in your Wix account, you can purchase or renew domains in Wix using SEPA. Learn more about purchasing domains.
If the domain is unavailable once the payment is approved, we automatically refund your payment. This may take up to 20 business days.

Reasons for a declined SEPA payment

Your SEPA payment may be declined for one of the following reasons:
  • Your bank account is not located in one of the eligible countries
  • Your bank account is not SEPA enabled
  • There were not enough funds in your bank account
  • The payment was not in Euros
  • The IBAN number was entered incorrectly
  • There were more than 2 SEPA payments pending in your Wix account

Canceling a SEPA payment

If you have upgraded your site to a Premium or Studio site plan using SEPA, then the initial status of your new plan is Pending Payment. Once the payment is approved (it may take up to 7 business days), then the status of your plan changes to Paid.
Once your plan is paid, you enter the 14-day money back guarantee period. You can cancel your plan within the 14-day period to receive a full refund.
If your payment status is Pending Payment for a site plan, you can cancel your plan before entering the 14-day period. This will cancel the payment and you will not be charged by Wix.

To check the status of your plan:

  1. Go to Billing History in your Wix account.
  2. Check the status of the plan in the Status column.
Important:
You cannot cancel a SEPA payment for a domain.
