Site Members: Offering Exclusive Content to Your Members

7 min read
As the Members Area is login protected, you can use it to share exclusive content with members only, and also allow your members to share their own content with other members. This is a great way to keep your customers loyal and make them feel part of a community.
In this article, learn more about:

Restricting pages to specific member roles

Allow certain members to have access to specific member pages. For example, you may run a yoga studio and want to create pages just for the students, and also pages just for the teachers.

To restrict pages to specific member roles:

  1. Create member roles and assign them to different members.
  2. Access the Pages panel:
    • Wix Editor: Click Pages   on the left side of the Editor.
    • Editor X: Click the Pages icon  at the top of Editor X.
  3. Click Member Pages.
  4. Hover over the relevant member page and click the More Actions icon  on the right.
  5. Click Settings.
  6. Click the Permissions tab.
Note: If the page is a public member page, make sure Members Only is selected under Who can view this page?
  7. Click Only selected members or paying customers under Which members can access this page?
  8. Click the Edit icon next to Select from your Member Roles.
Note:
Only regular site pages that are restricted to site members appear in step 3 (see Understanding Restricted Pages above). You cannot assign a member page from the Members Area to a specific role.

Restricting pages to members with Pricing Plans

Restrict specific pages to members who have purchased specific pricing plans.

For example, you may be a language teacher offering online courses for different languages. You can add your language courses to your site and restrict the courses to those members who have purchased the relevant pricing plan.
This means that the German course material would be restricted to those members who purchased the German course pricing plan, and the Spanish course material would be restricted to those members who purchased the Spanish course pricing plan.

Restricting pages to members with Badges

Using Badges to reward your members and make them stand out? Create exclusive pages for them. For example, if you have a blog with premium content you can set permissions so it's only accessible by members with a 'Blog VIP' badge.
Before you begin:
Make sure you've enabled badge permissions in your site's dashboard for the relevant badge. If permissions aren't enabled, the badge won't show up in the 'Select from badges' list.

    • Editor X: Click the Pages icon  at the top of Editor X.

  9. Click Apply.

Allowing customers to access their private information

The Member's Area interacts with many different Wix business solutions, like Wix Stores or Wix Bookings. By signing up to your site, members get access to pages with all their previous info so they're encouraged to keep engaging.
If you're using Wix Stores, for example, a My Orders page is automatically added to your Member's Area so customers can keep track of their previous purchases. Another example is the My Wallet page where members can view and update their credit cards.
