CMS: Managing Your Collections from the Wix App

Access and manage your CMS (Content Management System) collection content on the go with the Wix app.
Your CMS in the Wix app is a simpler interface than the desktop version that lets you edit collections from your mobile device. You can add new content, as well as change, duplicate, and delete existing content.
Before you begin:
- Install the Wix app on your iPhone or Android device and make sure you have the latest version.
- Make sure to add the CMS to your site before accessing it in the Wix app.
Managing items
You can add new items, as well as edit, duplicate, and delete existing items.
Important:
Default field values are not applied to items added via
input elements or the
Wix app. The default fields only apply to items that you or site collaborators add within your CMS collections from desktop computers.
To manage items:
- Go to your site in the Wix app.
- Tap Manage
at the bottom. - Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Tap CMS.
- Tap the relevant collection.
- Choose what you want to do:
Add new items
Edit items
Duplicate items
next to the relevant item.Delete items
Note:
Currently it is not possible to update the schema (layout and structure) of a CMS collection in the Wix app.
Selecting different views
You can see custom views you've created for your collections in the Wix app. The views must be created using the desktop version of the CMS. Learn more about
creating custom views in the CMS.
To select a view:
- Go to your site in the Wix app.
- Tap Manage at the bottom.
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Tap CMS.
- Tap the relevant collection.
- Tap the View drop-down at the top and select the relevant view.
Searching within collections
Easily find what you're looking for by searching within CMS collections in the Wix app.
To search within a collection:
- Go to your site in the Wix app.
- Tap Manage at the bottom.
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Tap CMS.
- Tap the relevant collection.
- Tap the search bar at the top.
- Enter keywords you want to search for.
- Tap Return.
Viewing filters and sorts in your collection view
View active filters and sorts you've added to your collection view. You must first add the sorts and filters from the desktop version of CMS. Learn more about
filtering and sorting content in your collection views.
Note:
These filters and sorts affect how you and site collaborators view your collection but do not affect your live site content. Learn how to
add filters and sorts to datasets that control your live site content.
To view filters and sorts:
- Go to your site in the Wix app.
- Tap Manage at the bottom.
- Scroll down and tap Settings.
- Tap CMS.
- Tap the relevant collection.
- Tap the Sort & filter items icon
at the top. - View your active sorts and filters.
