CMS (Formerly Content Manager): Hiding, Sorting, and Filtering Fields in Your Collection View

Manage the fields that you and your site collaborators view in your collections. You can hide, sort, and filter the fields as you work in your collection. To use the same field managing settings later, save the changes to a custom view in your collection

Hiding, sorting and filtering fields in your collection view does not affect the content on your site. Learn how to add filters and sorting conditions to datasets that control what appears in your site's page elements.

Hiding and reordering fields in your collection

Decide what fields you want to view and the order in which you want them to appear.

To hide and reorder fields:

  1. Go to CMS in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the relevant collection.
  3. Depending on the view you are using (Table, List or Gallery), click Manage Fields, Customize List or Customize Cards to open the fields panel.
  4. Click the toggle next to each field to show or hide it. 
  5. Click and drag each field to put them in the required order.

Sorting content in your collection

Apply your own sort criteria to view your content in the order you want. By default, rows are sorted by the time and date your content was added to the collection.

To sort your content:

  1. Go to CMS in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the relevant collection.
  3. Click Sort at the top right.

  1. Click + Add a Sort.
  2. From the Sort By drop-down, choose the field you want to sort by.
  3. Select how you want to sort the field.
7.  Click Add Sort.

Filtering content in your collection

Create your own filters to view your content based on a set of conditions that you apply.

To filter your content:

  1. Go to CMS in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the relevant collection.
  3. Click Filter.

  1. Click + New Filter.
  2. Click the Select Field drop-down and choose the field you want to use to filter your content.
  3. Click the Choose a Condition drop-down and select the criteria for your filter. Then enter a value in the next field according to the type of condition you select.

  1. Click Add Filter to save your filter.

Modifying sorts and filters in your collection

You can update or delete your sorting and filter rules to change what content appears in your collection view. 

To modify your sort or filter rules:

  1. Go to CMS in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the relevant collection.
  3. Click Sort or Filter
  4. Choose what you want to do:
    • Edit rule: Click the rule you want to change and edit it. Then click Update
    • Delete rule: Hover over the relevant rule and click the Delete icon .
