Changing a Domain After Purchase

It is not possible to change or edit a domain name or domain extension after you purchase it. The only way to change the domain name for your site is by purchasing a new domain and assigning it to your site.
For example, it isn't possible to correct a typo in your domain. You need to purchase a new domain instead.
Or, to change the domain extension for your domain (e.g. switching from .com to .org) you need to buy a new domain with the new domain extension.
Important:
Domains purchased through Wix are set to renew automatically. We recommend that you turn the auto renewal option off for the incorrect domain to avoid paying for another year.
