Invite people to collaborate on your site and give each person a role that fits their work. Every role carries a set of permissions, so you control who can change your site and dashboard.

How roles and permissions work
Your Manage Roles page shows every role available for your site. Each role title shows a permission summary underneath it, so you can confirm the access it grants.

Each site has an owner role, and general roles for managerial support. The Wix apps on your site decide which extra roles you see. With Wix Blog, for example, you can give a collaborator the Blog Editor, Blog Writer, or Guest Writer role.
Each person you invite fills one of your site's collaborator seats. The number of free seats depends on whether you have a Wix site or a Wix Studio site.
Site collaborators have some access limitations whatever their role.
Site owner role
The person who created the site, or received site ownership, gets the owner role. The owner can manage and change everything on the site and in the dashboard. You can't duplicate or edit the role, and you can only reassign it by transferring the site to a new owner.

General roles for site management
General roles have management-level permissions for co-owners, site and back-office managers, web designers, and content writers.
A legacy contact is separate from collaborator roles and does not appear in your site’s roles and permissions settings. They can only request ownership of your Wix account after your death, and they do not have access to your account while you are alive.
| General Role | Permissions |
|---|---|
Admin (Co-Owner)

Has full access to the Accept Payments dashboard, with the same permissions as a Payments Admin (see below), including access to personal information and bank details.

Roles for integrated Wix apps
When you add a Wix app to your site, new roles appear in your dashboard. You also always have roles for viewing your site, your CMS, billing, and marketing, whatever apps you use.

| Restaurants Roles | Restaurant Manager: Can manage and edit Restaurants Menus, Orders, and Table Reservations, including their settings. |
Location permissions
You can assign site collaborators and staff to specific business locations. They only get access to the locations you assign them.
Location restrictions only apply to collaborators with Wix Restaurants and Wix Bookings permissions. You can also offer services at multiple locations or set up more restaurant locations.

Custom roles for tailored access
You can build custom roles from scratch, or duplicate and edit existing roles to match your permission needs.

Changing access over time
Update your collaborators' roles and permissions as their contribution to your site changes over time. You can assign different collaborator roles, edit custom roles, and remove collaborator access as needed.
