About SEPA payments for Wix Services

3 min read
The Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) is a European Union direct debit payment method. It simplifies bank transfers in Euro. With SEPA, you can use one account and card to pay in Euro for Wix Premium plans and domains.
In this article, learn about:

Participating countries for SEPA payments

You can use SEPA to pay for your Premium plans and domains if you are located in and have a bank account, in one of these countries:
Austria, Belgium, Cyprus, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Netherlands, Portugal, Slovenia, Slovakia, and Spain.

Paying Wix using SEPA Direct Debit

In the checkout, you see an option to pay using SEPA, if it is available for that product. Once you enter your bank account details, you see the order confirmation screen.
You do not receive any further notifications or emails until the product has been activated in your Wix account.
Important:
For Wix purchases that use SEPA as payment method, it can take another 2 days for us to receive the confirmation from your bank (and until you see the purchased product in your Wix account).

Switching your Premium plan to a SEPA payment

You can change the payment method for your Premium plan from credit card to SEPA. There are 2 ways to do this:
  1. Wait for your current Premium plan to expire and purchase a new one using SEPA.
Note: This causes downtime on your domain. Your site will display the free site with Wix Ads and your free URL during this time.
  2. Purchase a new Premium plan with SEPA on a second "dummy" site. Once you see the new Premium plan in your account, transfer it to your actual site and cancel your old Premium plan.
Note: Make sure to check that your domain is connected to your site after completing this process.

Purchasing domains using SEPA

You can purchase domains from Wix using SEPA. Browse and purchase a domain directly from Wix for your site. Learn more about purchasing domains.
Important:
If the domain is unavailable once the payment is approved, we automatically refund your payment. This may take up to 20 business days.

Reasons for a declined SEPA payment

Your SEPA payment may be declined for one of the following reasons:
  • Your bank account is not located in one of the eligible countries
  • Your bank account is not SEPA enabled (please contact your bank to enable it)
  • There were not enough funds in your bank account
  • The payment was not in Euros
  • The IBAN number was entered incorrectly
  • There were more than 2 SEPA payments pending in your Wix account

Cancelling a pending SEPA payment

If you are waiting for a payment to be approved for a Premium plan, but you decide you want to cancel it, contact your bank directly to cancel the payment.
Important:
You cannot cancel a SEPA payment for a domain.
