Wix Online Programs: About Automations for Your Program

The reminder to complete steps automation only works for scheduled programs that have a fixed start date. Every day at 09:00 (site’s local time), the system checks the program calendar. If any steps are scheduled for that day, it sends the reminder email and push notification. It does not check whether a participant actually completed those steps, and it does not run for time‑limited self‑paced programs, even if content dripping is enabled.

Push notifications for daily reminders are sent through the pre-installed Remind participants to complete steps automation. If participants are not receiving them, check the following:

• You edited the pre-installed automation: If you previously edited the original automation, the Send a push notification action may not be included. Revert the automation to restore the default setup.

• You duplicated the pre-installed automation: If you created a custom version by duplicating the original automation, the Send a push notification action may not be included. Create a new automation to add it.

To check whether the automation is set up correctly, open it the Automations tab in your site's dashboard. It should include 2 actions: Send an email and Send a push notification.

Some triggers pass the Contact ID of the member or participant who triggered the automation. You can use this Contact ID in your action so the automation only affects that person.

For example, to add someone to a group when they join a program:

When you select Contact ID, the automation uses the contact from the trigger. The same logic applies to other actions that let you choose a contact, such as Send an email or Send a push notification.

You manage all of your program automations from the Wix Automations tab in your site’s dashboard. From there, you can turn automations on or off, change the trigger or action, and delete any automations you no longer need. Learn more about managing your automations.
