Connecting Your GoDaddy Domain to the Wix Name Servers

You can create a website with Wix and connect your GoDaddy domain by updating the name servers in your GoDaddy account. This allows Wix to manage your DNS settings while your domain stays registered with GoDaddy. Note that you must upgrade your Wix site to connect your own domain.

Before you begin:

Step 1 | Add the domain to your Wix account

Before updating the DNS settings in your GoDaddy account, go to the Domains page in your Wix account and add the GoDaddy domain. 

To add the domain to your Wix account:

  1. Go to Domains in your Wix account.
  2. Click Add an Existing Domain.
  3. Click Connect a domain you already own

  1. Select the site you want to connect your domain to and click Next.
  2. Enter your domain name and click Let's Go.
  3. Click Yes, I own this domain under the search field. 
  4. Review the info about updating your name servers and click Start

Step 2 | Update the name servers in your domain host account (GoDaddy)

To connect your GoDaddy domain to your Wix account, you must update your domain's name server settings in your GoDaddy account. 

Follow the step-by-step outline in your Wix dashboard, which guides you through the steps to change the name servers in your domain's current host account, GoDaddy. 

While you are doing the steps in your GoDaddy account, keep your Wix account page open. The steps will tell you everything you need to know, including the name servers (NS) records you should use.
