About Storage and Bandwidth

2 min read
Your storage and bandwidth requirements are important factors to keep in mind to make sure that your website runs as smoothly as possible.
How much storage or bandwidth you need depends on a few things, like the content you display on your site, and how many people visit your site.
For example, if your site contains a lot of video content or high-quality images, you may have higher storage requirements. If your site receives a lot of traffic, you may have higher bandwidth requirements.
In this article, learn more about:

Storage

Storage refers to how much content (including images and files uploaded to your site) you can store on our servers.
You might want to upgrade your site if you have a lot of video or high-grade image content.
Tip:
You can check how much storage you're using in the Manage Storage section of your site dashboard.

Bandwidth

Bandwidth determines how much data your visitors can view at a certain time. Wix sites can handle thousands of visitors at the same time.
You can upgrade your site at any time if your site experiences a high amount of traffic. All site upgrades include unlimited bandwidth to ensure that visitors have a smooth experience on your site.
Tip:
We'll let you know if your free site comes close to exceeding its data transfer limits.

Increasing storage and bandwidth

Free Wix sites come with up to 500MB of storage and up to 1GB bandwidth.
You can increase your site's storage and bandwidth at any time by upgrading your site. Upgrades are available for sites built on the Wix Editor and for sites built with Wix Studio
