This article refers to the new Wixel, released in December 2025. If you're unsure whether you’re using the new or previous Wixel, view more information here.
Wixel's video maker helps you go from a simple prompt to a fully customized video in no time, perfect for everything from a product ad, a save-the-date, or a lifestyle highlight reel. Start by generating a video with the help of Aria, your AI design agent, and continue to edit the video to perfect the timing, messaging, and impact.

Note:
Actions that involve generating and editing a video with AI use AI credits.
Creating a video
Start by telling Aria, your AI design agent, what kind of video you want to make. You can create a brand new video by describing your idea and adding reference images or turn existing footage into a highlights video.
To create a video:
- Go to your project in Wixel.
- Choose what kind of video you want to create:
Create a video from scratch
Create a highlights video

Editing your video
Customize the video to make it your own, fine-tuning every shot, element, and moment. To do this, use the timeline at the bottom of your video. This is where you can see and manage all the different components of your video.
Each component has its own layer in the timeline, so you can easily trim, move, or adjust each part as needed. A video is composed of the following parts:
- Video: The video as a whole (i.e. a design in your project).
- Shot: The main building blocks of your story. Each shot encompasses a scene or section of the video.
- Video element: The core video inside a shot. This layer includes visuals that Aria generated.
- Elements: Visual layers like graphics or text, each in its own row so you can individually adjust the position and timing.
- Background music: The video's audio track.

To edit your video:
- Go to your project in Wixel.
- Click the relevant video in your project.
- Choose what you want to do:

Creating new versions of your video
Ingredients give you a clear view of the key elements in your video, such as the background, product, or person. You can update these ingredients to quickly generate a new version of your video with different elements, without starting from scratch.
Tip:
Make a few different versions of a video with the same look and feel for different products or audiences. For example, you can generate a video for each water bottle you sell by replacing the water bottle in each copy.
To create a new version:
- Go to your project in Wixel.
- Click the relevant video in your project.
- Click Ingredients on the action bar.
- Hover over the ingredient you want to change and click Replace.
- Choose an image from the Wixel Media Manager.
- (Optional) Repeat steps 5-6 for other ingredients you want to change.
- Click Regenerate Shots.

Important:
When you regenerate shots using new ingredients, the shots with those elements are replaced and you cannot undo this action. If you want to keep the original version, duplicate the video in your project first, then update the ingredients in the duplicated copy.
