Wix Events: Setting Up Your Event Details Page

The Event Details page is where you can provide your guest with all the information they need to know about your event. This can include a map, an "About the Event" section and more.

Note:
If your site has only events without tickets, you have the option of disabling the Event Details Page.

Choosing a layout

Choose the layout that works best for you: Display the header info above the image or place them side by side. 

To select a layout:

  1. Access the Event Details page: 
    1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click the Settings icon .
    3. Click the Pages tab.
    4. Click Go To Page next to Event Details Page.
  2. Select the Event Details page in the Editor.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Layout tab.
  5. Customize the layout using these options:
    • Choose Header Layout: Classic or Side by Side.
    • Event Header: Align the header text Left, right, or center.
    • Event Info: Align the rest of the text: Left, right, or center.
    • Image Layout: Choose how you want to customize the event image:
      • Image Ratio: Select an image ratio: 1:1 (square) or 16:9.
      • Image Resize Options:  Select Crop to crop the image to fit in the selected space or Fit to displays the entire image.
      • Image opacity: Set the image opacity.
      • Color behind the image: Choose a color and set the opacity for the background of your image.

Selecting which elements to display

Select the perfect elements to display and hide the rest. For example, if you want to encourage guests to share on social media, you can click the Social Sharing toggle to enable it.

To show or hide elements:

  1. Access the Event Details page:
    1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click the Settings icon .
    3. Click the Pages tab.
    4. Click Go To Page next to Event Details Page.
  2. Select the Event Details page in the Editor.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Display tab.
  5. Click the toggle next to each option to show or hide it:
    • Date & Location: The date and location appear above the event title in the header. 
    • Description: The "short teaser" text appears under the event title in the header.
    • RSVP Button: Show or hide the RSVP button in the page header. Important: There are 2 RSVP buttons, one in the header and one on the page. If you disable both, guest won't be able to register for RSPV events. They can, however, still purchase tickets for ticketed events. 
    • About Section: Displays the "About the event".
    • Read More Button: If your "About the Event" text is long, you can show a limited amount of text with a "Read More" button.
    • Connected Group: Shows any groups you connected.
    • Membership: Displays your membership offers.
    • Schedule: Displays the event's schedule.
    • Map: A map with the event location appears under the About The Event section.
      Note: You can set the location of the event in the Event Details section.
    • Social Sharing: Social share buttons appear at the bottom of the page.
    • RSVP Button: Show or hide the RSVP button in the body of the page.
      Important: There are 2 RSVP buttons, one in the header and one on the page. If you disable both, guest won't be able to register for RSPV events. They can, however, still purchase tickets for ticketed events. 

Editing text

Your page comes with certain default text that you can edit to match your voice and tone. Change the titles, links and buttons across the page so they suit your events.

To edit event page text:

  1. Access the Event Details page:
    1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click the Settings icon .
    3. Click the Pages tab.
    4. Click Go To Page next to Event Details Page.
  2. Select the Event Details page in the Editor.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Text tab.
  5. Click the text fields to edit the following text:
Tip: You may not see options you have not set up or have hidden.
  • RSVP event button text: Visitors at an event without tickets click this button to register.
  • Ticketed event button text: Visitors at a ticketed event click this button to register.
  • Read More Link: Visitors click this link to expand the About The Event section.
  • Read Less Link: Visitors click this link to collapse the About The Event section.
  • Time & Locations: This title appears above the time and location details.
  • Guests Title: Title above display of members that are attending.
  • About: This title appears above the About The Event section.
  • Schedule Title Text: Appears above your event schedule.
  • Tickets: Ticket section title.
  • Social Share: This title appears above the social share icons. 

Customizing the design

Select the colors, fonts, button shapes, and more to create an event page that guests find inviting.

The available design options may vary depending on your layout and display selections.

To customize the design:

  1. Access the Event Details page:
    1. Click the Wix Events app in the Editor.
    2. Click the Settings icon .
    3. Click the Pages tab.
    4. Click Go To Page next to Event Details Page.
  2. Select the Event Details page in the Editor.
  3. Click Settings.
  4. Click the Design tab.
  5. Choose what you want to design:
