If a renewal payment fails or is declined, you can update your payment information in your Wix account. Wix accepts credit card, debit card, and PayPal (if available in your region).
Updating your payment details
Update your payment details as soon as possible to reinstate your site, premium subscription, or domain. You can add a new debit or credit card to your Wix account if your current payment method is declined.
To update your payment method:
- Go to Premium Subscriptions in your Wix account.
- Click Update Payment Method under the relevant subscription.
- Click Use another payment method and enter your your card details.
Note: If you have other cards saved, you can select them from the list. - Click Submit Payment.
What's next?
Once you have updated your payment details, our system attempts to process the payment again. When the payment goes through, your premium subscription will be back up and running.
Reasons for failed or declined renewal payments
The payment may have failed due to one of the following reasons:
Card payments:
- The payment has been declined by your card payment provider.
- The payment card provided has expired or has insufficient funds.
- The payment card number provided is invalid.
- The payment card provided has not been approved for recurring payments.
To resolve the payment issue, please update to another card. You can contact your bank to find out why the payment failed.
PayPal payments:
- The payment method has been declined by your service provider, PayPal.
You can contact PayPal to find out why the payment failed. If you do not wish to enter card details on your Wix account, you may need to update your preferred payment method in your PayPal account in order for this payment method to function again.
