Adding Keywords as Additional Meta Tags to Your Pages
2 min read
You can add keywords to your page's code as additional meta tags. However, it's important to keep in mind that Google and other major search engines don't use keywords in meta tags as a ranking factor. As such, these meta tags do not affect the way your site is indexed and ranked in search results.
Search engines use your content to understand each page's value and rank it accordingly. Instead of adding keywords as meta tags, we recommend incorporating keywords/search phrases throughout your site's content organically and logically. Learn more about using keywords on your site's pages.
Despite their lack of importance for major search engines, you can still use keywords if you're working with a service or a company that utilizes them.
