Connecting Your Domain to the Wix Name Servers

Connect your domain to Wix by changing its name servers. With this connection method, Wix hosts your DNS, while your domain remains registered with its current registrar.
Important:
Before you can connect a domain, your site must be upgraded to a Premium Plan.
Need to connect your domain without changing name servers?
Alternatively, you can connect your domain using the pointing method to keep your DNS hosted outside of Wix. Learn more about the differences between pointing vs. name servers connections.
To connect a domain to the Wix name servers:
- Click Settings from the top bar of the Editor.
- Click Connect Domain.
- Click Connect a domain you already own.
Note: If you've already added a domain, click Add an Existing Domain then click Connect a domain you already own. - Enter the domain name and click Next.
- Follow the step-by-step instructions to step up the domain records in your domain host account.
- Click Verify Connection.
Note:
It may take up to 48 hours for your domain to be visible worldwide. Learn more about domain propagation.
