Change Plan Extension Calculation

1 min
If you change to a cheaper site plan, you receive balance of the difference in price as an extension to your new plan. This means that you will receive additional days to your new plan, extending your renewal date.
The extension is calculated as follows:
Balance = Days Left x Old Daily Plan Price
Extension = (Balance / New Daily Plan Price) - Days Left
  • Daily Plan Price: The price of the original plan divided by the total number of days (i.e. 365).
  • New Daily Plan Price: The price of the new plan divided by the total number of days (i.e. 365).
  • Days Left: The number of days left of your original plan

Example:

  • Plan Price: $348 per year
  • New Plan Price: $324 per year
  • Daily Plan Price: $348/365 = $0.95
  • New Daily Plan Price: $324/365 = $0.89
  • Days Left: 120 days
Balance = 120 x 0.95 = 114
Extension = (114 / 0.89) - 120 = 8.09
8 days are added to your new premium plan.
Tip:
For simplicity, the numbers displayed in the example are rounded up to 2 decimal places. If you want to repeat this calculation, use the full number (e.g. 348/365 = 0.95342...).
Note:
If you purchased your original premium plan using a coupon or discount, the original plan price is the amount that you originally paid.
