Working with the Connect Ratings Display Panel

2 min
You can connect your ratings display element to a dataset so that it can display the rating associated with an item and optionally the total number of ratings.

If you are not yet in the Connect Ratings panel, select the ratings element and click the Connect to Data icon  to open it.

Connect a dataset
Select the dataset from the dropdown that you want to connect your ratings element to.

Connection Options

For each of the connection options, you can connect to an existing database collection field as described below, or you can add a new field to your collection. Select Add a new collection field from the dropdown and then define the Field Name and Field Type. This adds a new field to your collection and automatically connects it.
Rating value connects to
Select the Number field in your collection that contains the rating value. The icons on the Ratings Display element will reflect this value.
Important:
The Rating value must be a number between 1-5, including decimals.
  • If you set the rating value to be displayed, the value will be rounded up or down to the nearest tenth.
  • The icons round up or down to the nearest half. For example, 3.2 will round down to 3 icons, and 3.8 will round up to 4. Both 3.3 and 3.7 will round to 3.5 icons.
Number of ratings connects to
Select the Number field in your collection that contains the total number of ratings. If you want the ratings to be submitted to Google along with the rest of your SEO data, your element must include a total number of ratings, even if you choose not to display this information in the element.
