Wix Studio: Creating a Branded App for Your Clients

Create a fully branded mobile app for your clients that their customers can download from the App Store and Google Play. You have full control over the app: start by designing its theme and logo and then build out the app's features and content. Then submit the app to Apple and Google. Once the app is live, it is available to download for clients and their customers.
You can choose to create an app for an existing client site, or create a standalone app that is not connected to a site.

Creating a branded app for an existing client site
Every site can have its own branded app. When you build a branded app for a site, you can match the site's branding and theme. Any Wix apps connected to the site (e.g. Wix Stores, Wix Bookings) automatically sync to the branded app.
To create a branded app for an existing client site:
- Go to Branded Mobile Apps in your Studio Workspace.
- Click Get Started.
- Select a site for the branded app and click Continue. This takes you from your Studio workspace to the relevant site's dashboard.
Note:
You will only see Step 2 and 3 if this is your first time building a branded app. If you have built an app before, you will go directly to the Branded Mobile Apps dashboard. Click the Create New Branded App drop-down at the top right and then select Create for existing site to choose a site.
- You are now on the Mobile app tab of your client's site dashboard. In the Your own mobile app tab, add the branded app's name and choose an icon. Then click Next.
- Select a theme color for the app. You can always change this later. Then click Next.
- Choose a navigation layout for the app. Then click Next.
- (Optional) Scan the QR code to see how the app appears on mobile devices. Then click Continue Setup.
- Now start editing the features and content of the app. Click Edit Mobile App to open the web editor. Learn how to edit the features and content of the app.
- Once you're finished editing your app's content, the next steps include:
- Purchasing a Branded App plan for this site.
- Connecting an Apple Developer and Google Developer account.
- Submitting the app to the App Store and Google Play.
Creating a branded app without a connected site
You can also create a fully branded mobile app from scratch without connecting it to an existing site. For example, a personal trainer could have a branded app where clients can book training sessions and contact the trainer. However, the business might not require a full website.
To create a standalone branded app:
- Go to Branded Mobile Apps in your Studio Workspace.
- Click Get Started.
- In the site selector, click + Create New Branded App at bottom left.
Note:
You will only see Step 2 and 3 if this is your first time building a branded app. If you have built an app before, you will go directly to the Branded Mobile Apps dashboard. Click the Create New Branded App drop-down and select Create without a site to start building a new app.
- Choose the type of branded app you want to create (e.g. online store, fitness trainer) and click Save & Continue.
- Choose the app's name and icon, brand color, and navigation type.
- (Optional) Scan the QR code to see how the branded app looks from a mobile device.
- Click Continue to Dashboard to keep setting up the branded app from the dashboard. This dashboard is a 'mobile-first' dashboard where you can manage everything in the app. Learn more about creating a mobile app without a site.
- Click Edit Mobile App at the top right of the dashboard to customize the app's features and content.
- Complete the list of tasks in the app's dashboard to keep setting it up including:
- Purchasing a Branded App plan.
- Connecting an Apple Developer and Google Developer account.
- Submitting the app to the App Store and Google Play.

If you decide you want to eventually create a website for the app, click Design Website at the top right of your dashboard.
