Wix Stores: Customizing Your Store in Spaces by Wix

Customers engage with your store using one of the member apps, Spaces by Wix, Fit by Wix, or Dine by Wix. Use the Owner app and your site's dashboard to make customizations to Spaces, or any of the other member apps.

Accessing customization settings on desktop

You can make some general customizations to the Spaces app on desktop. For example, upload a logo, select your main app color, and hide elements. However, you need to use the Owner app to add or edit store elements (see below).

To access customization settings on desktop:

  1. Go to Mobile App in your Wix dashboard. 
  2. Click Get Started.
  1. (Optional) Add a cover photo and logo, and choose a theme color.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Select Continue under Spaces by Wix.
  4. Click Edit Design to access more customization options.

Accessing customization settings in the Owner app

Use the Owner app to access all the customization options for Spaces by Wix. You can add a cover photo and logo, change the app's theme color, add and customize pages, and more. 

To access customization settings in the Owner app:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap Site & App at the bottom.
  3. Select an option:
    • To access customizations the first time:
      1. Tap Let's Go.
      2. Tap Skip.
      3. Select Spaces by Wix.
      4. Select Spaces by Wix at the bottom.
      5. Tap the More Actions icon at the top right.
      6. Select Customize.
    • To access customizations after the first time:
      1. Tap Site & App at the bottom.
      2. Tap Customize.

Adding a store page

By default, your mobile app has a shop tab that displays all your products. After you create new store categories, you can add additional screens store screens (pages) to display them in different tabs. 

To add a store page:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap the Site & App icon .
  3. Tap Customize under Mobile App. 
  4. Tap Screens at the bottom.
  5. Tap Add New Screen.
  6. Add a title for your first product category under Screen Name and tap Save.
  7. Swipe the element categories at the top and select Store.
  1. Select a product display option:
    • Product Gallery: Display products in a grid. Customers scroll down to view additional items. 
    • Product Carousel: Display one row of products. Customers swipe left or right to browse additional items.
  2. Select a category from the Select Category drop-down and tap Save.

Adding store elements to an existing screen

You can add a Product Gallery or a Product Carousel to any of your mobile app screens. 

To add store elements to an existing screen:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap the Site & App icon .
  3. Tap Customize under Mobile App. 
  4. Select the screen you want to customize from the Screen drop-down.
  1. Tap Add Element.
  2. Swipe the element categories at the top and select Store.
  1. Select a product display option:
    • Product Gallery: Display product in a grid. Customers scroll down to view additional items. 
    • Product Carousel: Customers swipe left or right to browse products.
  2. Select a category from the Select Category drop-down and tap Save.

Customizing a Product Gallery or Carousel

After you add a gallery or carousel, you can change the product category displayed, show or hide the title, customize your filters, and more. 

To customize a Product Gallery or Carousel

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap the Site & App icon .
  3. Tap Customize under Mobile App. 
  4. Select the relevant screen from the Screen drop-down.
  1. Tap the Product Gallery or Carousel.
  2. Tap Customize element.
  3. (Optional) Select a screen from the Element Location drop-down to move the gallery to another screen.
  4. Tap the Element Title toggle to show or hide it. 
  5. Select a category from the Select Category drop-down.
  6. Tap the Show filters drop-down to enable or disable product filters. If enabled, select the checkboxes next to the filters you want to show.
    Note: Filters aren't available for Product Carousels.
  7. Select an image layout:
    • Crop: Images are cropped to the same size.
    • Fit: The entire image is displayed with its original aspect ratio.
  8. Select on which devices the gallery is visible:
    1. Tap Element Visibility.
    2. Select a visibility option.
