Wix Mobile Apps: Google's Closed Testing

Google's closed testing for your native mobile app lets you test your app with a select group of users before its published in Google Play. This step helps identify and fix issues to create a smooth experience for your customers. For example, if you run an online store, closed testing ensures the checkout process works seamlessly.

When you submit your app to go live on Google Play, Wix reviews it and submits it to Google as part of their required closed testing process. Feedback is gathered to address any issues, and Wix helps your app meet all requirements before launch. Closed testing is only required if you have a personal Google developer account.
While Wix helps with the submission process, we cannot guarantee your app will meet Google’s testing requirements or provide a specific timeline for the completion of the testing process.

To set up Google's closed testing

In the Mobile App Builder of your site's dashboard, copy and paste Wix’s answers for Google’s closed testing. This is the final step before your app goes live on the Play Store.
  1. Go to Mobile App in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the tab with the name of your own mobile app.
Note: A notification will appear next to your app name to indicate that action is needed.

  1. Under Submission task and updates, follow the 4 steps listed in the dashboard.
  2. Click Resubmit.
After the first round of closed testing, Google may request additional closed testing with more questions. Like the first round, you answer these questions in the same place, directly through the dashboard.
