Subdomains Overview

2 min read
A subdomain is an extension of your domain name, displayed in front of your root domain in your web address (URL). It brings visitors to a particular page on your website. It is part of the main website, but it may be considered a separate entity by search engines.
For example, the address for a blog subdomain might look like this: www.blog.mysamplewebsite.com.

Benefits of Subdomains

Some benefits of using subdomains are:
  • Subdomains can be used on websites to send traffic to a different IP address while still keeping visitors on the same main domain.
  • Subdomains are useful for giving a webpage its own, separate identity in search engine results while also keeping it a part of the main website.
