Site Members: Creating a Custom Signup Form

A signup form lets your visitors register to become members of your site. There are 3 types of member signup forms to choose from; default, custom or Velo form. 
This article refers to the custom signup form which you can design to look exactly how you want. You can add any element you want to your form, and customize the form title, fields, background, button and more!
Important:
  • You must have a Member's Area on your site to create a custom signup form.
  • Currently, it is not possible to add social logins to a custom sign-up form, however you can add them to the default login form. Learn how

Step 1 | Choose a Custom Signup Form

  1. Click Menus & Pages on the left side of the Editor.
  2. Click Member Signup.
  3. Click Member Signup Form.
  4. Click the drop-down menu and select Custom Form.
  5. Click Add to Site.
Note:
If you prefer to use a pre-designed form that already matches your site, choose Default Form in step 4.

Step 2 | Customize Your Form

You can customize your form in several ways. Below are some ideas of things you may want to do to your custom signup form: 
When you are finished customizing your form, click Exit Lightbox Mode on the top bar.
Note:
You cannot display social login buttons on a custom signup form, only on the default form.

Step 3 | Save Your Member Signup Data

It's important to save your member signup data. Some of this data is saved automatically, but some needs to be saved manually. 
Notes:
  • If you want information from a specific field in your form to show in your contacts, you must save it with a field in your Contacts List.
  • In order to see the Save Field Data to Contacts option, you need to add a new field to your form. This will open up the advanced settings.
  1. Select the relevant field you want to save. 
  2. Click the Settings icon .
  3. Click the drop-down under Save Field Data to Contacts and change to Save.
  4. Select one of the preset options or choose the option to create a Custom Field.
