Managing DNS Records in Your Wix Account

Manage your domain's DNS (Domain Name System) records (e.g., A, CNAME or TXT) from the Domains page in your Wix account.
Your A and CNAME records are essential to keeping your site online, as well for transferring or connecting your site to another host. You can, however, also manage other DNS records from within your Domains page. Explanations of each record and what they do can be found in the FAQs. 
In this article, learn about:

Adding DNS records

  1. Go to your Domains page.
  2. Click the More actions icon next to the relevant domain.
  3. Click Manage DNS Records
  1. Scroll to the record type you'd like to add (e.g., CNAME, TXT) and click + Add Record.
  2. Enter the DNS record in the relevant fields. 
    Tip: If you're instructed to create a DNS record with the @ sign in the Host Name field, leave the Host Name field blank instead.
  3. Click Save.
  4. Click Save Changes in the pop-up message.

Editing DNS records

  1. Go to your Domains page.
  2. Click the More actions icon next to the relevant domain
  3. Click Manage DNS Records
  1. Hover over the DNS record you need to edit and click Edit
  2. Edit the DNS record.
    Tip: If you're instructed to create a DNS record with the @ sign in the Host Name field, leave the Host Name field blank instead.
  3. Click Save.

Deleting DNS records

  1. Go to your Domains page.
  2. Click the More actions icon next to the relevant domain. 
  3. Click Manage DNS Records
  4. Click the More actions icon  to the right of the record you'd like to delete.
  1. Click Delete.
    Note: Deleting your domain's default A or CNAME records may cause your site to go offline. 
  2. Click Delete Record in the pop-up.
