CMS (Formerly Content Manager): Displaying Collection Content in the Single Video Player

3 min read
Use your collection to store videos or video links to sources such as YouTube, Vimeo, and Facebook. You can then display them on your site with the Single Video Player.
Note:
There are size limitations and restrictions when uploading video files to the CMS. Learn more

Step 1 | Set up fields in your collection

Video titles are stored in a Text field, whereas the video source (URL) is stored in a URL field or a video field. Prepare your collection by adding these fields then connecting them to the video player on your page.

To set up fields in your collection:

  1. Go to CMS in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click the relevant collection.
  3. Add a new field to hold the title of your video (make sure the field type is Text).
  4. Add a new field to hold the either a link to your video content (field type is URL) or a video file (field type is Video).

Step 2 | Add and connect your Video Player to your collection

Add the Single Video Player to any page of your site, then connect it to your collection to display your video. The placeholder video will be displayed if there is no content in the field it is linked to in the collection.
