Wix Blog: Using Facebook Instant Articles with Wix Blog

Facebook Instant Articles are a great way to showcase your Wix Blog across Facebook and give your readers an improved, smoother experience when reading your blog posts. Some of the advantages of Instant Articles are:
  • Load much faster than regular Facebook articles
  • Are 3x more likely to be shared across Facebook
  • Offer more analytics
Instant Articles are also a great way to start monetizing your posts by introducing advertising into your content.
Important:
  • You need to have published at least 10 blog posts to use Instant Articles.
  • You need to have a Facebook business page.
  • It takes 3-5 days for your blog posts to be reviewed by Facebook.

Step 1 | Set up Facebook Instant Articles

First, you need to set up Facebook Instant Articles on your Facebook account. 

To set up Facebook Instant Articles:

  1. Go to Facebook Instant Articles.
  2. Log in to your Facebook account.
  3. Click Start Earning.
  4. Using this guide from Facebook, follow the steps to complete the set up in Creator Studio. 
  5. Copy the meta tag under Connect Your Site: Claim Your URL. (You'll need this for step 2).
Tip:
Leave the Facebook tab open on your browser. You'll need to go back later to paste in the RSS feed link from your Wix site.

Step 2 | Connect Instant Articles to your blog

Once you've signed up on Facebook, you need to connect Instant Articles to your Wix site. You can do this by adding a tag to your homepage.
Note:
If Facebook detects any errors in your blog posts, you can edit them from inside Facebook.

To connect Facebook Instant Articles to your blog:

  1. Click Pages and Menuon the left side of the editor.
  2. Click the More Actions icon  next to the relevant page.
  3. Click SEO Basics.
  4. Click the Advanced SEO tab.
  5. Click Additional Tags.
  6. Click Add New Tag
  7. Paste your Facebook meta tag under HTML Code.
  8. Click Apply.
  9. Publish your site
  10. Get your RSS feed link
  11. Go back to your Facebook account. 
  12. Enter the RSS feed link in Production RSS Feed: Choose Your Publishing Platform.
