Wix FAQ App: Working with Categories in the Wix FAQ App

The Wix FAQ app helps you build professional and visually appealing FAQ sections for your site. Use categories to organize your questions by topic, making it faster and easier for visitors to find the answers they need.

Creating a new category

With clearly defined categories, you can keep your FAQ page organized and make your site feel professional and easy to use.

To create a new category:

  1. Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app. 
  3. Click the Add New drop-down and select Category
  4. Enter your category name in the Add category field. Note: There is a 50 character limit.
  5. Click Save.

Tip:
You can also create a new category when you create a new question

Deleting a category

Outdated categories can clutter your FAQ section. Keep things optimized by removing categories you no longer need.

To delete a category:

  1. Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app. 
  3. Click the More actions icon  next to the category you want to delete. 
  4. Click Delete.
  5. Click Delete on the pop-up.

Note:
You must always have at least one category in your FAQ. If you have only one category, you won't be able to delete it. 

Moving a question to different category

When you create a new question, you need to assign it to a category to publish it. You can move it to a different category at any time.

To move a question to a different category:

  1. Go to Manage Apps in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click Open next to the Wix FAQ app. 
  3. Click the drop-down next to the relevant category.

  1. Click the More actions icon next to the question you want to move. 
  2. Click Move to category.
  3. Select a new category for the question.
  4. Click Move.
Tip:
You can also drag and drop questions and place them in other categories.
