Retrieving Your Amazon Credentials

As an Amazon affiliate, you can earn money from qualifying purchases just by simply recommending and reviewing Amazon products on your site. Beyond just financial gain, it can enhance your site’s value by offering curated recommendations and can help build trust with your readers through honest product endorsements.
To get started, you'll need to create an Amazon affiliate account and retrieve your credentials.

Retrieving your Access key ID and Secret key

The Access key ID and Secret key, enable you to integrate Amazon's Product Advertising API (images and product listings) in your site. Without these keys, you cannot use Amazon's product images and content on your site. 
Important:
Due to recent changes to Amazon policy, new Amazon affiliates need to make 3 affiliate sales before the Access Key ID and Secret Access Key become active.

To retrieve your Access key and Secret key:

  1. Sign in to your Amazon Associate Account
  2. Click the Tools menu at the top of the page.
  3. Click Product Advertising API.
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Click Join and copy the Access Key ID and Secret Key.
    • Click Add Credentials and copy the Access Key ID and Secret Key.
      Note: Make sure you save a record of your Secret Key and Access Key.  
  5. Try to connect your Amazon Affiliate account, using the instructions in step 2.
    Note: You can create a maximum of two keys at a time. If you have already created two keys, delete one before creating a new one.

Retrieving your Associate tag

  1. Log in to your Amazon Associates account.
  2. Create an account if you have not already done so.
  3. Select the relevant country from the drop-down list.

  1. Hover over your email address at the top of the page.
  2. Click Manage Your Tracking IDs.
  3. Copy the value that appears next to Selected Tracking ID:
