Wix Pro Gallery: Customizing Video Settings

Note: To autoplay elements, your site visitors need to change the settings in their own browsers. Please refer to Safari, Chrome, Microsoft and Firefox support for more information.

You may find that your music and videos do not play automatically on iPhones, Androids and tablets. This is because Apple and Chrome block the autoplay function to prevent additional data charges from the visitor's cellphone network. No data is loaded until the user taps the play button on the audio or video player.

Autoplay functions are also disabled if the visitor has enabled low-power mode on their iOS device.

Note: For mobile or tablet devices, we recommend setting your Play Video preference (Step 4) to On hover, or On click. 

When the gallery ratio does not match the ratio of the original video, borders may be added to the video. This can generally be resolved in galleries with a Grid, Thumbnails, Slider, or Slideshow layout by the completing the following steps:

However, if there are several videos with different ratios in the Pro Gallery, these steps may not resolve the issue.

Videos play one at a time when they are set to autoplay. Currently, it is not possible to play all the videos in your gallery at the same time. If this is a feature you would like to see in the future, you can vote for it here.

To enable sound on a video, you must click (computer) or tap (mobile) on the video. Hovering over the video does not enable sound.

Currently, it is not possible to customize the play button that appears when visitors hover over videos in your Pro Gallery. If this is a feature you would like to see in the future, you can vote for it here.

Currently, it is not possible to manually play / autoplay all the videos in your gallery at the same time. Depending on the settings applied to your videos, your videos play individually in a loop, on hover, on click, or one after the other. YouTube automatically changes the quality of your video stream based on your / your site visitor's viewing conditions. Linked YouTube / Vimeo videos without a thumbnail image appear as a blank or broken thumbnail in the Media Manager. This blank / broken thumbnail also displays in your Pro Gallery in your editor, Preview mode and on your live site.
