A domain's DNS (Domain Name System) converts web URLs (such as www.wix.com) into IP addresses (a combination of numbers read by a computer), which is used to exchange data across the internet. DNS matches names with numbers to deliver websites to your browser.
Domain propagation is the process of updating name servers around the world following any changes to your DNS records. It can take up to 48 hours to complete. This means that your site may not be accessible from all devices, or may appear as insecure during this time. As soon as propagation is complete, your site will be accessible and secure worldwide.

Domain propagation may take up to 48 hours to complete.
During the domain propagation process:
- You may not be able to view your live site online.
- Your previously connected live site may appear on your domain.
- You may not receive emails connected to your domain.
- Published changes to your site may not appear on your live site.
- Your site may appear correctly in one browser or computer, but not in another.
- The SSL certificate will only be issued once propagation is complete.
