Wix Studio: Manage Your Team

5 min read
Your Wix Studio workspace is where you collaborate with your team on building sites, managing subscriptions and domains, and more. As the workspace owner, you can add teammates to your team and specify their roles.
Choose the access each teammate has to your workspace and sites. You can tailor each teammate's access individually to ensure that they have the permissions necessary for the area they work in.

You have additional management options when it comes to the web designers in your team who work within Wix Studio Editor. By customizing Studio Editor access, you're in full control of who can make changes to your clients' sites.

Inviting a teammate to join your team

To form your team, send email invitations to the other professionals you wish to have on board. Before sending an invitation, you need to assign a specific role to each teammate. You can always change these roles later, ensuring your team setup remains flexible and adaptable.

The roles you can assign cover all aspects of your business, for example Website Manager, Billing Manager and Marketing Manager. Learn more about Wix roles and permissions (note that some of these do not apply to Wix Studio).

To invite a teammate to join your team:

  1. Click + Invite Teammates.
  2. Enter your new teammate's email in the Email(s) field.
  3. Select the checkbox next to the role you'd like to assign this teammate.
  4. Click Send Invite.

Setting your teammates' roles in the workspace

Each role you assign comes with a set of permissions. If a teammate hasn't been assigned the correct role or permissions, features and actions that they want to perform may be inaccessible to them.

You can set a teammate's role and permissions when you invite them to join your team, or at any stage after they have joined. As access needs change, you can update roles and permissions, or create new roles with customized access.

To set your teammates' workspace roles and permissions:

  1. Choose what you want to do:

Choosing the sites your teammates can access

Stay in control of what your teammates are working on by giving them access to specific sites only. This way you can assign them specific projects or sites based on their expertise. Alternatively, you may wish to allow some teammates access to all sites and folders.

If you want a teammate to have one role (e.g. Co-Owner) on one site and a different role (e.g Website Manager) on another site, you can assign them multiple roles with specific site access linked to each.

To choose the sites your teammates can access:

  1. Click the More Actions icon  next to the relevant teammate.
  2. Click Change Role.
  3. Scroll to the bottom and select an option:
    • All sites and folders: This teammate will have access to all of this workspace's sites and folders.
    • Specific sites or folders: This teammate will have access to the sites and folders you specify.
  4. (Optional) Click + Add another role on different sites to assign this teammate multiple roles with specific site access linked to each.

Granting teammates access to the Studio Editor

For teammates who will be collaborating within Studio Editor to design and build sites, you can assign site editing roles (for example, Website Manager and Website Designer).

You'll see permissions specific to Studio Editor when you view the permissions of these roles. Learn more about Studio Editor permissions and collaborating within Studio Editor.
