Wix Forum: Creating a Members-Only Category

2 min
Creating a members-only category in your Wix Forum allows you to set exclusive areas accessible only to registered members. This setup can enhance the sense of community and exclusivity on your site, encouraging more users to sign up and engage deeply.

For instance, imagine you run a fitness coaching website. By setting up a members-only category, you can offer special tips, discussions, and personal support exclusively to your subscribers, adding value to your services and boosting member loyalty.
When guests who are not members perform a search, results from members-only categories do not appear.

To create a members-only category:

Dashboard
Wix app
  1. Go to Forum in your site's dashboard.
  2. Click Categories on the left.
  3. Click the relevant category.
  4. Scroll down to Who can access this category? and select Logged in members or Selected members.
Tip:
You can edit permissions for a category so only admins and moderators can write posts. To learn how to change who can post in a category, click here.
