Adaptive Content is an app that lets you deliver personalized content to your site visitors based on their behavior, location or device. For example, if you run a clothing store and a visitor returns to your site, you can provide personalized content that is unique to them.
Examples of Adaptive Content:
  • Welcome back! Those trainers you were eyeing last time are now on sale—don’t miss out!
  • Welcome! I see you're coming to us from Dublin. We're running a pop-up event in Dublin next month and we'd love to see you there. Tickets are selling fast!
By adding Adaptive Content to your site, you're able to respond and adjust based on context and make your visitors feel more valued and connected to your business.

Step 1 | Add the app to your site

To add the app to your site:

Wix Editor

  2. Click Add Apps  on the left side of the editor.
  3. Search for the Adaptive Content app in the search bar then select the app.

Step 2 | Customize the Adaptive Text widget

Next, customize the adaptive text widget in your editor. Keep in mind that this text will later be personalized based on visitor behavior or location, so make sure it clearly conveys your message and fits the tone of your site. Focus on drafting content that works well as the base text for all audiences.

Step 3 | Create a function

Functions allow you to define how your adaptive text will change based on your visitors’ location or behavior. By creating a function, you can set specific rules that decide which personalized text displays and when—helping you deliver relevant and engaging content to your audience.
You can test the function using the simulation feature available in the function builder. This is a great way to view examples of how the content is personalized to your visitors and what they would see.

To create a function:

  1. Click the adaptive text widget in your editor.
  2. Click Set Conditions
  3. Click Use Template
  4. Click the Generate adaptive text action.
