Setting Up Tax in the Wix Owner App

Important:
Set up tax rates for different locations on your phone using the Wix Owner app. For more advanced tax setup, including tax groups and automatic tax collection with Avalara, set up your tax from your site's dashboard on desktop. 

To set up tax collection:

  1. Go to your site in the Wix Owner app.
  2. Tap Manage  at the bottom.
  3. Scroll down and tap eCommerce & Finance under Settings.
  4. Select Tax.
  5. Tap Add Country.
  6. Select a country and tap Save.
  7. Tap the Same rate for the whole country toggle:
    Note:
    Relevant only for countries with states, provinces, etc.
    • Enabled: Tax is collected for all regions in the country at the same rate.
    • Disabled: You can set tax rates for each region (e.g. each state, province, etc.) separately.
  8. Enter a tax rate for each location.
  9. (Optional) Enable the Apply tax on digital items toggle.
  10. (Optional) Enable the Apply tax on shipping toggle.
  11. Tap Save.
  12. Select an option under Is tax included in your item prices and shipping?
    • No, add tax at checkout: For example, if the tax rate is 10% and a customer buys a $100 product, they are charged $110 at checkout.
    • Yes, tax is already included: For example, if the tax rate is 10% and a customer buys a $100 product, they are charged $100 at checkout.
