Wix Payments: Qualification for Affirm

2 min read
Affirm with Wix Payments is currently available only in the United States.
To accept payments through Wix Payments, your business must comply with our list of prohibited products and services. In addition to these requirements, Affirm has a further set of criteria needed to sell items via the Affirm payment method.
Before enabling Affirm payments on your site, we recommend you familiarize yourself with the following set of guidelines to help your business qualify to sell with Affirm payments.
In this article, learn about:

Prohibited goods and services

Affirm regulates the sale of products and services sold via their payment method. Examples of items which cannot sell through Affirm include:
  • Business to business services
  • Home improvement services, including contractors and special trade contractors
  • Titled goods and auto loans, including entire cars, boats, and other motor vehicles (parts and services allowed)
  • Professional services (including legal, consulting, and accounting)
  • NFTs
To see a complete breakdown of items prohibited and restricted by Affirm, see their terms of use, which may be amended from time to time.

Marketing guidelines

Affirm requires that all goods sold via their service are marketed using fair and honest practices. Financing terms need to be transparent and customers cannot be discriminated against due to personal circumstances such as age, location, gender...etc. In addition, customers should be able to opt out of receiving marketing material, if they so wish.
We recommend reviewing Affirm's marketing compliance guide before applying to sell your goods via this payment method.

Language requirements for your site

When applying to sell using Affirm, be aware that Affirm needs to review your site in English. Therefore, if your site exists in a language other than English, we recommend you use Wix Multilingual to create a version of your site that can be reviewed in English.
