How Wix Uses IndexNow to Inform Search Engines About Your Site Changes

Before you begin:
IndexNow with Wix is only available for sites with a Premium plan.
IndexNow is a way to instantly alert search engines, like Bing and Yandex, about any changes made on your website, making crawling more efficient. The IndexNow functionality is included with your Premium plan. Wix checks when there are changes to your site pages. We then submit the changes on your behalf to the IndexNow protocol.

What is IndexNow?

The IndexNow protocol makes the process of search engines crawling your site and indexing them more efficient. IndexNow explains its functionality as "a simple ping so that search engines know that a URL and its content has been added, updated, or deleted." This allows search engines to quickly identify that a page was changed and reflect the change in search results. Without IndexNow, it can take anywhere from hours to months for changes to be discovered by search engines.
Tip:

Benefits of using IndexNow

Normally it can take time for search engines to crawl and index your site. This depends on your site update rates, size and other factors. Therefore any changes you've made, as well as any improvements to your site's SEO, may not come into effect until the search engines have found and indexed that page.
With a Premium site, Wix automatically makes IndexNow aware of any site changes without you having to keep on top of it. For example, if you add a new blog post to your site, Wix notifies IndexNow and IndexNow then pings relevant search engines about the changes. This allows the search engines to crawl and index the page faster (depending on their indexing factors).
