Facebook Ads: Getting Admin Permissions for Facebook Business Manager

  • Getting admin permissions for the Facebook Business Manager
Facebook operates on a 2-layer permission system to make sure each person in the account has the access they need. Before you can create a campaign you need to make sure you have two separate permissions on the Facebook side. You need to be the admin of both:
  • The Facebook Page where you want to run the campaign (with 'full control' access)
  • The Facebook Business Manager associated with that page
Not sure if you already have the necessary permissions?

Getting admin permissions for the Facebook Page

Make sure you have "full control" access for the Facebook Page that the campaign connects to. You won't be able to connect to Facebook Ads with Wix with only "partial control" of a page. Ask a current page admin to follow the below instructions to add you.

Instructions to add someone as a Page admin with full control:

  1. Log in to your Facebook account and switch to the relevant Page.
  2. Click your Page's profile picture at the top right.
  3. Click Settings & privacy, then click Settings.
  4. Under Audience and visibility, click Page setup.
  5. Click Page access.

  1. Next to People with Facebook access, click Add New.
  2. Click Next.
  3. Enter the information of the person you want to give access to and select their name.
  4. Scroll down and select the toggle to allow the person full control of the Facebook Page.
  5. Click Give Access.
  6. Type your Facebook password, then click Confirm.
The person will receive an email to accept your invitation to access your Page.

Getting admin permissions for the Facebook Business Manager

Only the current manager can give admin permissions to the Facebook Business Manager. Ask them to follow the below instructions to add you as an admin.

Instructions for the current Business Manager to give admin permissions:

  1. Go to Business Settings in the Business Manager.
  2. Click People.
  3. Click Add.

  5. In the second column, choose the individual assets to add to this permission.
Note: Click the Manage Page toggle to allow the person to manage all assets and perform all available tasks.
  6. Click Invite.
