CMS Request: More Date and Time Formatting Options
Collecting votes
Currently, the CMS lets you display dates using several predefined formats, but you can’t fully customize how dates and times appear from the collection fields. For example, you may want to use a compact or region-specific layout, such as "Aug. 25" or "25 Aug.", but these aren't default options. You must choose from the default formats, which might not match your site’s design or your audience’s conventions.
This feature would give you more formatting choices and greater control over how dates and times display—so you can match your site’s style and offer a tailored experience for global visitors. For instance, you could choose to show only day and month without the year, or reorder the date for specific regions.
Workaround:
Advanced users with experience in CMS expressions and date functions may be able to achieve some custom layouts by combining date fields and functions. However, it isn’t always possible to display every format, such as “25 Aug.”, without a built-in formatting option.
We are always working to update and improve our products, and your feedback is greatly appreciated.
