Wix Forms: Adding and Setting Up a Subscribe Form

Build your mailing list with a subscribe form. Subscribe forms allow site visitors to sign up for your newsletter, special offers, business updates or more. Once they fill out the form they are automatically added to your contact list with a 'Subscriber' label. 
You can also add a 'subscribe to mailing list' form field to any standalone form. Send the unique URL to potential subscribers rather than directing them to your site.

Adding a subscribe form to your site

Choose a subscribe form template that best suits your business and set the subscribe form notifications.

To add a subscribe form to your site:

  1. Click Add  on the left side of the Editor.
  2. Click Contact & Forms.
  3. Scroll down to the Subscribe section and drag a form onto your site.
  1. Click Form Settings.
  2. Click Settings on the left. 
  3. Customize your subscribe form settings using the available options:
7.  Click Submit Message on the left.
8.  Choose an option under When visitors submit a form.
  • Show success message: Display a success message such as 'thanks for submitting!'
    1. What's the message? Enter the display text after someone submits the form.
    2. How long should the message show after submission? Choose either a Set time that the success message should display (in seconds) or select Always if you want the message to remain until the visitor navigates away.
  • Go to site page or lightbox: Direct visitors to another page on your site or a lightbox (popup). 
    1. Click Choose a Link to select where the form leads.
    2. Select a URL destination: Page, Web Address, Lightbox or None.
  • Link to external URL: Direct visitors to an external web address that is not part of your site.
    1. Click Choose a Link to select where the form leads.
    2. Select a URL destination: Page, Web Address, Lightbox or None.
  • Show link to file download: Allow visitors to download a file after submitting the form.
    Note: This feature requires an Premium plan.
    1. Click Upload file to choose the file your site visitors will download.
    2. Edit the download link text.

Add a subscriber field to a standalone form

If you're creating a standalone form with a unique share URL add a 'subscribe to mailing list' field to turn any form into an opportunity to build your mailing list.

To add a subscriber field to a standalone form:

  1. Go to Forms in your site's dashboard.
  2. Scroll down to Your Standalone Forms and click Edit next to the relevant form.
  3. Hover over the Subscribe to mailing list field and click Add.
  1. In the new field, edit the text that appears next to the subscriber checkbox (e.g. I want to join your mailing list).
  2. Choose an opt-in method. Single opt-in means anyone who selects the checkbox is automatically a subscriber. Double opt-in requires a second confirmation action via email. Learn more about single opt-in vs. double opt-in.
  3. (Optional) Select the Required checkbox if you want to make the subscribe field mandatory.
