Most web accessibility regulations are based on the international specifications outlined in the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG). However, they may differ between regions and we therefore advise checking the requirements for your area.

When you build a site with Wix, we take care of some backend accessibility features / configurations, including:
- Keyboard operability
- Defining ARIA attributes for Wix elements
- Focus indicators

Our Accessibility checklist outlines how you can make further adjustments and increase the accessibility of content and elements you add. As local laws can vary, the steps in this checklist are universal - so they cover the basics for most regions.

Compliance is a legal matter. Therefore, once you’ve completed the checklist, you’ll need to have your site audited by a local, legal Accessibility Consultant.
Audits either legally confirm compliance success, or provide you with the remaining required steps for your region.
