Converting a Static Page to a Dynamic Page
2 min
Converting a static page to a dynamic page allows you to display more content from a collection using a single layout. This helps you scale efficiently within your site’s page quota. Only the dynamic page you add counts as a page; item-level URLs do not. App pages follow the same model.
When saving the page contents to a new collection, the process automatically maps compatible elements on your page, enabling you to set up field names and types that save to the new collection. If you select an existing collection, a dataset is added, but the elements are not mapped automatically.
Notes:
- Wix sites can have up to 298 pages, including up to 100 static pages, plus dynamic pages, app pages, lightboxes, Signup & Login, and Search Results pages. Dynamic and app pages may create unique URLs for items, but only the main page counts toward your quota—not individual items or URLs. Learn more about using dynamic pages to scale efficiently.
- You cannot convert your home page, app pages, lightboxes, Signup & Login, and Search Results pages to dynamic pages.
