Converting a Static Page to a Dynamic Page

3 min read
Let's say you have a page that you created for real estate listings or recipes. You can convert it into a dynamic page and display more content from a collection using that one layout.
By converting your static page into a dynamic page, your site isn't confined to any page limits. Editing also becomes faster and more efficient using dynamic instead of static pages.
If you use the Create a New Collection option, the process maps out the compatible elements on your page. It then allows you to set up the field names and types, and saves them to the new collection. By using an existing collection, a dataset gets added, but the elements are not mapped for you.
This article details the steps to convert your static page into a dynamic page.
Note:
You can't convert your home page or pages added by App Market apps into dynamic pages.

To convert a static page to a dynamic page:

  1. Go to the Menus & Pages panel in your Editor:
    • For Wix Editor: Click Menus & Pages on the left side of the Editor.
    • For Editor X: Click Menus & Pages in the top bar.
  2. Hover over the page you want to convert to a dynamic page.
  3. Click the More Actions icon .
  4. Click Convert to Dynamic Page.
  5. Click Next in the Make this page dynamic panel on the right.
What's next?
You can add more elements to your page. Turn them into dynamic elements by connecting them to a collection.
